The Spoon-Bottomed Plane is used for making chairs, bowls and other items that have compound curves. This plane has the same features as my other planes and is made with an ipe sole. It's bottom is curved front to back and side to side. This is a great plane for chair seats and other concave surfaces. The iron is set at 45º.

The Dovetail Plane is used to cut the male and female part of a sliding dovetail. It insures that the angles are correct for both. This plane uses a simple fence cut at the same angle as the sole to make the female part of a dovetail cut, and includes a fence for the male cut. With this plane, you can cut single-sided or double-sided dovetails. This plane was made possible by the generous design provided by David Sobel. Without his help it never would have happened. Panel-Raising Plane
The Panel-raising Plane is a great tool for making raised panels for doors and such. The Panel-Raising Plane cuts a 1 3/4" field with and across grain. The iron is skewed at set at 50º for clean cuts every time. It has an Ipe sole and a 45 degree bevel for cross grain clean cutting This plane can be built with large irons for a larger field. the plane is made in the razee style.. Shoulder /rabbetPlane
The Shoulder Plane is used for trimming the shoulders and tenons on mortise and tenon joinery. It works well on end grain and across the grain. This set also fills the function of rabbet plane. The Shoulder Plane iron is 1.25 ". Custom iron widths and woods are available. E-mail me for availability. Dado Plane
The Dado Plane is used for making dados. It works great with the grain or across it. My Dado Plane comes in 1/4", 1/2", 3/4" or 1"
widths, but can be made in custom widths and your choice of woods.

Male dovetail
plane
The male dovetail plane is used to cut the male part of a sliding dovetail. The male dovetail plane used to cut male sliding dovetails. It can cut normal or tapered dovetails. It features a depth stop fence and nicker to make dovetails the same every time. This plane comes standard in the three normal woods. It has a ¼” thick 1.5” wide iron. The angle is usually 10 degrees to compliment router bits. You can also cut the female with a handsaw and chisels. . Male dovetail plane- $165 |

Plow Plane
The plow plane is used to make grooves with the grain. The plow plane features all brass hardware for great performance and looks. A hidden depthstop is recessed to keep out of the way. The irons are held snug against one side of the plane for easy setting a knurled knob lets you change the width so the irons are always snug. ¼” 3/16” 5/16” ½” 5/8 and ¾” irons are included they are ¼” thick O-1 steel. Sole is ¼” thick steel. Most woods can be used for this plane.. Plow Plane - $325 |
